I have tried the apple + alt + p + r also the shift whilst holding down the power button unitl i hear a “dong” twice, but I only hear this noise once and there is no response. The keyboard works but the mouse has no sensitivity. I had used the G5 perfectly fine last week, but for some reason now, it is just not starting up.
3 . I’ve had a macbook sitting in a box for about 12 months because I was re-installing the OS from CD and the disk drive broke. Tried to do a bit of an repair job (with no prior knowledge) and opened it up but…that failed. I was wondering if you could provide a quote for repairing/replacing the CD drive and putting the thing back together!
Does it sound like the graphic cards is going on the circuit board ?? Is this fixable or uneconomic repair if it goes and stays white !?

15. I was hit by a car yesterday whilst cycling home and landed on my bag which, had my laptop in it. As a result there is now a dent in the aluminium lid of the screen and a dead patch across the top 1/3 of the LCD display. The screen itself doesn’t appear to be cracked but it might be on the interior side. The model is a MacBook Pro 7,1 Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4Ghz. I need your help Mac Repair Harrogate.

16. Hi Mac Repair Harrogate, last year I switched to Mac and got a Mac i7 with 8 gig memory and 2T hard drive which is way over the top for my use but I was so fed up with PC problems I wanted the biggest beasty I could afford in the hope I would be problem free. Found it amazing for the first six months in comparison to my PC but then it started to slow down and now cranks away and is almost as slow as my PC. After advice from Mac helpline I understand that I am likely to have a corrupted file and need to completely wipe my drive clean and re-install all the software. I don’t want to do that on my own just in case I duff it. Also, I have a 2T Time Capsule which for some reason stopped connecting to the internet. I have to by-pass it and connect directly to my modem to get a connection which means I can’t get the use out of the automatic back up facility with the time capsule. I reconnect it to do back ups occasionally but would like to get it working properly.

17.I have a pretty major problem with the running of my imac, and it seems to have rapidly worsened over the past 3 weeks or so. It started freezing up for no good reason (showing the beachball of death) more and more frequently and for longer periods of time. Rebooting has proven to be pointless, as this somehow just seems to aggravate the issue, and yesterday it took 4 hours (No exaggeration, I promise you) to fully boot up to the desktop screen. When booting up, it remains jammed on the white apple logo screen for ages, then a plain light blue screen for ages more.
I’m not exactly an expert on the inner workings of a computer, but I’m fairly conversant with finding stuff out and troubleshooting as much as I can – So I have run tests on the hard drive such as verify disk, checked my permissions, even done a full scan with diskwarrior – but it tells me my hardware is fine and running as it should be. So, I’m pretty much at a loss as to what the problem can be.
I’m wondering if you are able to have a look at my imac and if necessary carry out any repairs it may need over the next day or two, if it all possible? I realise this is a bit of a longshot, but I am out of the country as of Thursday morning (3.2.11) for 2 weeks.
I would be more than happy to bring the imac through to you, if this is going to be at all possible (as getting over to Harrogate is a nightmare, I know).
18. Hi i have a macbook 13 ” unibody …. code is A1280.

20. I have an iMac and recently it has been rebooting all by itself, sometime repetitively. Then it will be fine for a few days and then the problem will reoccur again. I’m not sure if it’s software or hardware fault. Have you come across this problem before? What is the quote for fixing it?

21. Hi Mac Repair Harrogate , I Have an imac 20″ not sure on the year (i have serial numbers etc if you need them). I have been experiencing the flashing question mark folder problem, followed all apples advice online and completely wiped and reinstalled osx (losing all previous work and programmes).I’ve come to use it again after this and it still has the same problem after leaving it for several hours it works but then it returns to the same problem again everytime i switch it off. I am a student just finished a deadline and beginning another i approx 2 weeks so the sooner i can get it sorted the better. Thanks Natalie
p.s. I also live in Leyland and would find it difficult to get the imac to you, would you come this far???

22. I have recently had a problem with my sons intel imac. White one with flat screen. It was running really slow and I believe the hard drive may be at fault. I was wondering if you have replacment hard drives and how much they cost to be formatted ready to be popped into the imac. Also the OS x disk has been damaged and I have a new imac, can this disk be used to replace the operating system? The last question was that is it only the barracuda hard drives that can be used with the intel imac or can any hardrive be used?I would also like to enquire about possible services for my machine, how much it costs and what you can do to keep it running smooth. Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

23. Hi Mac repairs in Harrogate, I am a wedding photographer, i was working on my iMac last night when it stopped working, it froze and the only way i could shut it down was to switch the power off, It has done this before but it has always come back on when it has cooled down. This time it will not, you can here a click when it is switched on and the fan starts but it will not strike up. I have changed a ram board as this caused a problem before but it is still dead, can you advise me please what it might be.

24. I have purchased an Apple Airport Extreme which I need to have installed and a couple of Airport Expresses to extend the range of the network. We have 4 Macs and 2 iPads and have been having trouble with network and interenet connection, especially on iMac. Have had iMac checked out at Applestore MK and it is fine so problem is perhaps on the netgear modem/router and thus I would like to disable the wireless features of the Netgear router and replace with new wireless network using the Apple Airport Extreme.
25. Our iBook G4 recently had an unfortunate tumble which has damaged the hinge for the screen and the surround. It also seems to have developed battery problems, which mean it will now only run from mains power and will not hold charge. It can be used to a point but the screen won’t support it’s weight and has to be propped up for fear of it falling back and causing further damage
If possible I’d like to drop it into the shop at some point so you could give me a quote for any necessary repairs in the hope that we can get it covered on our home insurance. If you could give me a call and we can arrange dropping it down to you at Mac repairs Harrogate.
